The movie shown here shows the occupation of the binding site of the sterol carrier protein type 2 domain of human multi-functional enzyme type 2 by its own Phe 93, when the ligand is removed from the protein.

The movie is extracted from a Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation (frames extracted every 0.1 ns), using interpolation between subsequent frames for smoothing purposes. Phe 93, its neighbour Phe 94, and the "center" of the binding site, Trp 36, are shown in green. Other important residues in the binding site are Phe 12 and Phe 79, shown in red. Residues that come within 3.0 Ângstrøm of Phe 93 or Trp 36 are shown in cyan.
