About
the Practical course
|
The
course will
teach state of the art methods and protocols in the data collection,
data processing, scaling and phasing methods using crystals
of macromolecules aimed at obtaining the best possible interpretable
map prior to model building. On the very first day we will have some
general lectures on basic aspects of the crystallographic method like
Fourier transform, symmetry, the Argand diagram and the phase problem.
There will be lectures and tutorials, focused on data collection,
data processing and phasing. There will be enough time for discussions.
Students are encouraged to bring their own crystals and/or datasets. It
will be possible to collect data using our new microfocus home X-ray source.
